Charolais in Argentina

This breed was brought into our country from  France around 1910 when it was first exhibited at  the Cattle Show in Palermo. In 1917, Mr Carlos and  Mr Manuel Guerrero purchased some animals and  crossed them with British breeds.

In 1924, the Central Export Union in Nevers  (France) introduced some pure breed animals. The  Herd Book was consequently opened at the  Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA).
In 1959, INTA introduced breeding stock into the  country for crossbreeding tests. Results were  remarkable.
