The East Frisian Breeders Association of Argentina was established in 1993 with the purpose of promoting and improving the German sheep breed `Ostfriesisches Milchschaf´ which name was translated into `Frisona´. Even though it has been imported several times, it was promoted as a dairy breed from 1980 onwnards. Because of its over 200 lambing percentage this breed has proven to adapt very well to the argentine climate. |

It is aknowleged for the quality of its wool (good coloring, no medulated fibers, and an average of 32 microns and staple length between 12-15 cm). In the near future the official milk production control will be established, thus allowing our association a better selection of rams and consequently fostering the breed improvement in Argentina. |
